چکیده

Nitro-blue tetrazolium polyvinyl butyral film dosimeters (NBT-PVB) were prepared and investigated based on radiation-induced reduction of NBT. NBT-PVB film dosimeters containing different concentrations of NBT dye from 1 to 5 mM were prepared in a solution of ethanol. The dosimeters were irradiated with g-ray from Co source at doses from 5 up to 55 kGy. UV/vis spectrophotometry was used to investigate the optical density of unirradiated and irradiated films in terms of absorbance at 529 nm. The absorbance increases with absorbed dose up to 55 kGy for NBT-PVB film dosimeters. The dose sensitivity of NBT-PVB film increases strongly with an increase in concentrations of NBT dye. The effects of irradiation temperature, humidity, dose rate and the stability of the response of the films after irradiation were investigated. The influence of irradiation temperature and humidity on the performance of the film was reduced significantly due to the use of PVB as a binder containing NBT dye. & 2011 Elsevier Ltd. The use of polyvinyl chloride films dyed with methyl red in radiation dosimetry

Background: The purpose of this work was to investigate the use of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) dyed with methyl red as a high dose radiation dosimetry. Materials and Methods: Commercial PVC films from Sabic made from resins PVC57S with thickness of 60 µm and methyl red with a molecular weight of 269.31 were used. Irradiation was carried out using a 60Co γ-ray generator with sources arr...

ساخت فیلم پلی وینیل کلرید آلاییده شده با کوئیناکرین دی هیدروکلرید و مطالعه ویژگی‌های دزیمتری آن

Ionization radiation induced decomposition of dyes is a concept frequently exploited to develop devices to measure the radiation dose. In this study, using this concept, preparation of polyvinyl chloride films doped with different amounts of quinacrine dihydrochloride were done and their capabilities for dosimetry of gamma radiation doses in the range of 0 to 60 kGy were evaluated. The results ...

Non-Isothermal Degradation Kinetics of High Energy Protons Irradiated Polyvinyl Butyral

This research is aimed to undertake a comparative study on stability and thermal degradation kinetics of un-irradiated and high energy protons irradiated polyvinyl butyral (PVB) based on weight loss analysis and non-isothermal approaches. The weight loss by the un-irradiated PVB upon heating was found to be in two stages but due to high energy protons accelerated exposure following by chemical ...

Ultraviolet Spectral Analysis of Polyvinyl (Butyral) Film Incorporating 10, 12-Pentacosadiynoic Acid Monomer for Application in Radiation Processing Dosimetry

A detailed study was performed to investigate the dosimetric characteristics of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) containing 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid (PCDA) monomer. PCDA monomer undergoes radiation polymerization when subjected to gamma rays inducing change in the absorption spectra in the UV region of the spectrum. Unirradiated film is colourless and has four absorption peaks at 216 nm, 227nm, 241nm...
